I am a gal with dreams. I'm a terrible dreamer! I've always got a great idea - ask my lovely husband, he would gladly vouch for me on this.
Tonight on my drive home, "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac came on the radio, and the lyrics resonated with me differently than they normally do. The song is written to tell the story of love gone astray. Thunder only happens when it's raining - relationships fall apart when things are falling apart anyway. But tonight, when I was listening to the song, the first picture that came to mind wasn't about things falling apart - it was about being lucky enough to be stuck by lightning.
Lately, my head has been swirling with ideas - it's been raining up there, almost like a low hum that just feels like it's churning! And that lightning is going to strike - it's going to throw down with a giant crack, and the thunder is going to shake things up and it's going to reverberate for kilometres.
The fun in life is acting on your ideas - I've learned that the fun way. It's being brave and holding your breath and taking the leap. Because success or failure is not what's important - what's important and what's fun is the effort, the willingness to try new things.
If you've got an idea that's been raining in your mind for a day, a week, a month, a year - maybe today's the day to act on it.
